March Madness
Selections coming up soon. Still think it'll be North Carolina, Memphis, UCLA and Tennessee as the four #1's but of course if the selection guys watch ESPN then substitute Kansas/Texas for Tennessee.
Georgia/Arkansas going on now and Georgia (16-16) is still winning. Auto-bid up for grabs for them (Arkansas is already in) and a bubble for someone will burst if it happens (Oregon?).

Billie Gillispie and Bruce Pearl were named SEC Co-Coach of the Year. Both coaches had a great year. A lot of Kentucky fans were writing off Gillispie during the first part of this season. However, once the team came together things really turned around. UK ended regular season conference play with a record of 12-4. They now have a first round bye in the SEC Tourney and will most likely make a 17 consecutive appearance to the NCAA National Championship Tournament.
The Vols were ranked #1 for their first time ever. They also won their first regular season SEC Championship in just over 40 years. They also stand (in my opinion) the best chance at winning the SEC Tournament Championship.

#5 ranked Tennessee Volunteers came into Rupp Arena tonight to take on a struggling University of Kentucky Wildcats.
I missed the first 10 minutes or so of the first half. But after I joined in UK was giving Tennessee a good game. Several times UT had a 10 point lead but never was able to put it away. UK would keep battling back but never could get the lead.
Until the second half. UK never did lay down and let a very tough Volunteer squad walk over them. Tennessee went cold and allowed UK to make a comeback, take the lead and hang onto a HUGE win in the SEC.
66 - 72 UK FTW!!!
I honestly didn't expect UK to play them close. Tennessee is a very good ball team. UK has not had a good season to say the least. However, since they started SEC play they have been a completely different team. They are hustling, fighting, and WANTING TO WIN. I am encouraged more and more when I see them playing like they have been since the start of 2008. They survived a previously unbeaten Vanderbilt in 2 overtimes. They lost a close game to Mississippi State. And an overtime loss to Florida. Then this big win against Tennessee.
Folks we are starting to see what Gillispie has been trying to tell us was coming. Their record now is 8- 9 overall and 2-2 in the SEC. Go Cats!

Finding the right baseball bats or the correct basketball shoes may not seem that big a deal to you, but surely it does matter to your eleven year old that his golf carts are being filled with the right golf equipment. The wrong type of golf clubs is more than enough to put them off golf and you might as well be buying lacrosse equipment for the rest of your life.
For the first time since 1977 UK has beaten a top 10 team. Earlier tonight, the Wildcats pulled an upset win on instate rivals, the University of Louisville. Thanks to a touchdown pass from Woodson to Johnson with only 28 seconds remaining. Kentucky's defense then stopped a last second drive by Louisville to end the game with a final score of 40-34.
Also, Andre Woodson broke the SEC record for most passes without an interception with 257 and counting.
This is the first time in years that I thought UK had a chance at beating Louisville going into the game. Then after seeing a few minutes of the 1st quarter, it looked like UK was really psyched up and out for the kill.
I am looking forward to Tennessee. :)
