| Follow up story: Stolen police gun used in home invasion |
The other day I posted about a property owner that killed two masked thugs that broke into the house he owned and demanded money at gunpoint. I had been wondering where these thugs got this gun. Obviously they got it at a gun show. Because we all know that's where all of the criminals buy their guns. We know this because The Brady Campaign and the main stream media keep telling us so. Well, the Louisville Courier Journal printed this story today:
Stolen police gun used in home invasion
The gun that one of two teens brandished when they were fatally shot during an apparent home invasion this week had been stolen from a Louisville Metro Police officer, police said.
Officer Phil Russell said the gun was stolen in 2006 from an officer’s car or residence. Let me repeat that. "the gun was stolen in 2006 from an officer’s car or residence." Wha-wha-wha-what? The gun was STOLEN? No way!
Here's a little more info on one of the slime balls.
Jefferson County court records show that Springer was arrested May 23 on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. He had been released on his own recognizance and had a court hearing set for June 16. In May 2007, Springer was convicted of carrying a concealed deadly weapon and sentenced to 60 days in jail, which was conditionally discharged. No records were found for Turner. Turner was the one in my prior post that the television stations were holding up as a good kid. Well, he may have been, but he chose to associate with the wrong crowd. That almost never turns out well.
I swear the City Of Louisville oughta give Mr. Jackson a medal and a parade.Labels: 2nd Amendment, crime, guns, home defense, kentucky, louisville, personal defense |

| Plates |
Jennifer Muir of The Orange County Register reports on the California Department of Motor Vehicles' "Confidential Records Program," which was created 30 years ago to keep DMV records of police officers private from criminals. The program has since expanded to cover "hundreds of thousands of public employees – from police dispatchers to museum guards – who face little threat from the public. Their spouses and children can get the plates, too." BoingBoing Click through and read why it is important that people have the license plates. Since I work (nominally) for the government, I wonder if i can get them :)

It has taken more than 90 days, 270 witnesses and a bill of £10 million to slay the obsessive conspiracy theories of one man. And in the end yesterday, a jury discarded the soft option of accidental death and placed much of the blame for the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales, and Dodi Fayed on the shoulders of one of Mohamed Al Fayed’s own employees. The Princess and Dodi were unlawfully killed by a combination of their drunk driver, Henri Paul, and the paparazzi who were chasing their car, the jury at their inquests decided. It was a disastrous outcome for the owner of Harrods, whose allegations of a murder plot masterminded by the Duke of Edinburgh were rejected decisively by the coroner for complete lack of evidence. It was a damning indictment, too, of the pursuing photographers who must accept an equal share of the blame. Even the dead do not escape censure. The couple might have been alive today, the jury decided unanimously, had they been wearing their seatbelts. TimesOnline Now maybe this poor woman can finally rest. The obsession over her death (and life) rivals that of Elvis at times over here (in the south especially) and I doubt this inquest will change the minds of some who continue to look for conspiracies wherever they can.

A story that I wish was an April Fool's joke:WAYCROSS, Ga. -- Eleven students got together and plotted to kill their teacher, even going so far as to bring handcuffs and a knife to school, Waycross police said. One of the teacher's relatives said each child at Center Elementary School in Waycross had a job to do, including one assigned to wipe up the blood. The plot unraveled over the weekend when a student tipped off police, Local 6 reported. School officials said they never imagined that some of the 8- and 9-year-olds boys and girls at the school would think of bringing physical harm to a teacher, WJXT reported. Local6News What do they feed those kids in Georgia??

You need to go over to Rachel's and read this story:
So guess what Al Sharpton and the NAACP are doing? Protesting in front of the State Attorney's Office's, in support of the rapists. They say it's "unfair" that these animals are being held without bail. This is because some white kids in a neighboring city were recently charged with gang-raping two drunk female friends, and were released on bail. Which means that RACISM is in play! Sharpton said the black teens remain jailed and the white teens are free on bond, despite them committing the "same act." "To have different reactions to the same set of circumstances is a crime in itself," Sharpton said. The real crime here is that a man who doesn't understand the meaning of simple English words is a wealthy preacher who's regularly featured on news programs as a "black activist".
Rachel Lucas After you read it and let it sink in, remember this is a man who wants the world to follow him to hell.

| Crazed Man Kills Kids |
This man needs to be shot... repeatedly in the legs, arms, wherever (yes I'm upset).Luong, 37, a shrimp boat worker who lives in Irvington, was being held without bond on four counts of capital murder. If convicted, he could be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole.
District Attorney John Tyson Jr. said Luong had confessed to throwing Ryan Phan, 3, Hannah Luong, 2, Lindsey Luong, 1, and Danny Luong, 4 months, off the three-mile-long bridge after an argument with his wife.
Luong later recanted, claiming two Asian women took the children and never returned them. But a witness saw Luong on the 80-foot-tall two-lane bridge with the children, and another saw him leave the area without the children, Cochran said Friday. Yahoo News I hope that after the trial (in which I hope he is found guilty [if he actually is...]) they send him to death row in a non-Huckabee state (heh).Labels: crime, death |

| The difference between victim and victor |
This story actually happened back in November but it has just come to my attention. I wanted to post it and add a few comments.
911 audio (may not be suitable for all listeners): http://www.nbc5.com/download/2008/0110/15020797.mp3
Original story:Hammond woman fatally shoots alleged stalker
November 14, 2007 (HAMMOND, Ind.) -- A northwest Indiana woman shot her alleged stalker to death. Police say 41-year-old Ryan Lee Bergner broke into the woman's home in Hammond Monday night. The 51-year-old woman called 9-1-1 and hid in a closet with a gun she had been given for protection. She says she shot him when he opened the closet door and started choking her. His family says Bergner was a good man. Neighbors say the woman's action is understandable. "There is no way there should be any charges on her. It is justifiable homicide. She was on the phone with police. They told her exactly what to do. What more are you asking for when some guy's coming at you? I mean, that's defense," said Alison Joseph, woman's neighbor. Story update can be found here:
She said she was watching television when she heard a window break and called 911. She was hiding in a closet when she says 41-year-old Ryan Bergner came into the room. That's when she shot him with a gun she acquired that day. (emphasis added by EMB) "What are you doing? Stop it. Stop it, stop it," the victims says in the emergency call. "He's in the room with her," the 911 operator says. "Stop it, stop it," the victim continues, then a scream is heard. Earlier this week, the prosecutor decided not to charge the woman. (emphasis added - EMB)
This is a prime example of how a person turned the tables on her attacker and refused to be a victim. By defending herself she very well may have saved her own life.
As good as the police are, they simply cannot be everywhere. As the 911 audio shows, it can take several minutes for the police to get to you when you need them most. This woman did everything she could to avoid this man. Everything that all of the anti-gun people tell you to do. Call 911. Lock the doors. Retreat to another room. Hide.
None of which did any good. He still came after her. Locked doors did not stop him. Locked windows did not stop him. A call to 911 did not stop him. An armed citizen did.Labels: crime, EvilMidniteBombr, guns, hammond, handgun, Indiana, self defense |

| LSU Shooting |
A shooting at LSU (off campus) left two people dead. Both victims were shot in the head and one was tied up with computer cable according to Yahoo news. The two students lived in an apartment housing for married and graduate students (they were doctorial candidates from India, so might have been an ethnic killing).
Police did not lock down the school, but the shooter(s) remain at large.BATON ROUGE, La. - Police searched for suspects Friday in the shooting deaths of two Louisiana State University students, and unlike other schools in the wake of the Virginia Tech massacre, the school decided against locking down the campus. Police patrols were increased on the 28,000-student campus, and students were urged to be cautious as they wrapped up final exams and headed home for the holiday break. But LSU Chancellor Sean O'Keefe said police chose not to blockade the campus or reschedule the tests after determining the two doctoral candidates from India were slain in an isolated home invasion. The victims were found late Thursday after being shot in the head inside an apartment complex for married and graduate students. One was tied up with a computer cable. The killings were the first on campus in more than a decade. The suspects remain at large. Yahoo NewsI hope they catch the killer(s) that did this and bring them to justice. I'm not sure about the policy LSU has about students and guns (and not sure if a gun would have helped the victims) but I am sure that I would want to be able to attempt to protect myself in that situation. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victims.

The Dream Act dies (again): From Hotair, but almost everyone has this
For now. Cloture fails, 52-44. Standby for the roll and reaction. Update: I’m hoping to get some video up of Durbin but the Beauchamp news may have me sidetracked for awhile. Here’s the roll, though, as promised. Recall that the shamnesty cloture vote this summer failed with 53 votes, not 44, although it was more politically important for the participants to be seen on the right side in that one than it was here, which probably accounts for most of the difference. Quick and easy scan of Democrats voting against: Baucus, Byrd, Conrad, Dorgan, Landrieu, Pryor, Tester, and good ol’ McCaskill, whose objections to amnesty evidently don’t end at labor concerns. Republicans voting for: Bennett, Coleman, Collins, our friend Larry Craig, Hagel, Hatch, Hutchison, Lott, Lugar, “Amnesty Mel” Martinez, Snowe, and Sam Brownback, who was free to show his true colors today sans 11th-hour switch. Allah posts the actual votes on his site also (visit and see, read the comments);
The Jena 6 news that you probably don't know:
Media myths about the Jena 6 A local journalist tells the story you haven't heard. By Craig Franklin from the October 24, 2007 edition Page 1 of 3 Opinion editor Josh Burek talks with Craig Franklin about the distorted story of the Jena 6. Jena, La. - By now, almost everyone in America has heard of Jena, La., because they've all heard the story of the "Jena 6." White students hanging nooses barely punished, a schoolyard fight, excessive punishment for the six black attackers, racist local officials, public outrage and protests – the outside media made sure everyone knew the basics. There's just one problem: The media got most of the basics wrong. In fact, I have never before witnessed such a disgrace in professional journalism. Myths replaced facts, and journalists abdicated their solemn duty to investigate every claim because they were seduced by a powerfully appealing but false narrative of racial injustice. I should know. I live in Jena. My wife has taught at Jena High School for many years. And most important, I am probably the only reporter who has covered these events from the very beginning. The reason the Jena cases have been propelled into the world spotlight is two-fold: First, because local officials did not speak publicly early on about the true events of the past year, the media simply formed their stories based on one-side's statements – the Jena 6. Second, the media were downright lazy in their efforts to find the truth. Often, they simply reported what they'd read on blogs, which expressed only one side of the issue. [link]
Read it all. This is from someone who actually lives there and seems to know what they are talking about.
After you read it, remember what all those anguished congress people said about this story and try to imagine the relevance. tag: HotAir, DREAM, amnesty, Jena 6, Craig Franklin, Blogpower, LordNazhLabels: amnesty, crime, criminals, senate |

Russellville woman indicted for poisoning her boyfriend's dinner RUSSELLVILLE Last Updated:October 05. 2007 2:39PM Published: October 05. 2007 2:00PM Last Modified: October 05. 2007 2:39PM A Russellville woman has been indicted on attempted murder charges after allegedly poisoning her boyfriend’s steak dinner. Jamie Michelle Sheffield, 46, 1590 Franklin 75, was indicted by a September session of the grand jury and charged with trying to kill Donald McGee at his home at 21 McGee Lane, in Russellville, in February 2006. Investigators said that Sheffield prepared a salad and potatoes while McGee grilled steaks for the couple and some more guests. After an argument between Sheffield and McGee, the other visitors left the residence, taking their dinners with them. Sheffield and McGee continued to argue once they were alone. Reports indicate that McGee left the home for a short period of time. While he was gone, authorities believe that Sheffield put a poisonous substance known as temic in McGee’s food.[ link]
Why in the world would someone allow an argument to lead to attempted murder? There's not even a money motive (if they were married), yet this woman literally tried to kill her boyfriend over something so simple as an argument.
I realize that arguments aren't always simple, but that's because of the people involved, not the argument :) It's up to the people in an argument to be able to distance themselves from the over-reaching emotions that one stirs up before taking any action, such as poisoning your boyfriend.
I hope this woman gets the max penalty the law allows and is required to take some common sense classes ...

If this guy is a friend of yours, you may want to make sure he's not around next time you get sick.A sick acquaintance with several credit cards apparently proved too tempting for a man who authorities have charged with 107 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.
Officials with the Florence Police Department said 26-year-old Christopher Wade Hall, 2025 N. Wood Ave., Florence, has also been charged with first-degree theft of property.
"He went on a shopping spree for a few months with stolen credit cards," said Florence police detective Cliff Billingsley.
Authorities said the investigation indicates that Hall took 12 credit cards without the owner's permission.
"From what we have been able to determine, here in Florence he used two (cards) more than 100 times," Billingsley said.[link] | Christopher Wade Hall |
Not only did the man prey on his sick friend, he did it to the tune of $50k+ in meaningless expenses. The report goes on to say that all the purchases weren't local, so a grand jury will convene to see if any more charges will be filed.
News: My daughter is having surgery this morning (tonsils) so I may not be online today. Good thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Police said the father and his son tried to kidnap her fiancé by beating him up and tossing him into a sport utility vehicle.
Robert Webber, of Middletown Township police, said he thought he was being dispatched to a Bucks County diner Friday night for a fight but once he got there he was in the middle of a family disagreement turned violent. "The victim advised me that his fiancée's family was trying to kill him, drag him into a car and take him somewhere, where he believed he was going to be killed," Webber said. Webber said the alleged victim told him his fiancée's family was upset the two had moved in together. (link)

Convicted Child Molester Gets 800 Years (AP Photo/Paul Sakuma) Fred Everts is escorted in a Santa Clara County Superior Courtroom in San Jose, Calif., Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, before his sentencing. Everts, the former roommate of Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller, who authorities say is one of the most notorious child molesters in U.S. history, was sentenced to 800 years to life. | Printer Friendly | PDF | Email | digg The Associated Press Feb 10, 2007 12:18 AM (1 hr 38 mins ago) Current rank: # 103 of 14,265 articles SAN JOSE, Calif. - The former roommate of one of the nation's most prolific child molesters was sentenced Friday to at least 800 years in prison for sexually abusing three boys.
Fred Everts, 36, was convicted last year of molesting the youngsters, ages 3, 9 and 11. He was sentenced to 800 years to life. Police discovered the crimes two years ago while investigating Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller, who authorities say may have molested hundreds of youngsters over decades and kept detailed logs on the children. Schwartzmiller, 65, was sentenced in January to 152 years in prison for abusing two 12-year-old boys. He and Everts had met in prison on earlier molestation charges and eventually moved in together in San Jose. (link)

This is the kind of sentencing that needs to be done to stop these pedophiles. Note if they had been sentenced this strongly after their previous convictions, these other boys would not have been molested.Labels: crime, pervert, sex |

| Teacher |
There is simply something seriously wrong with some people. This 'teacher' is in jail for having sex with a student. Not a high-school student, a 13-year old student. The judge dismisses most of her 8 year sentence on the grounds that she simply leave the boy and his family alone and what does she do?
Teacher's obsession costs her two more years in jail McMINNVILLE, Tenn. — A former teacher serving an eight-year prison sentence for having sex with a 13-year-old student agreed Wednesday to serve two more years for sending him nude photos of herself. Pamela Rogers pleaded guilty to two counts of solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor. She admitted sending the photos, and investigators allege she also received photos and videos from the boy, now 15. “She had become obsessed with him,” her lawyer, Peter Strianse said. “I think she is over that.” Ms. Rogers, 29, was arrested in February 2005 and pleaded no contest to having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the student. A judge suspended most of her eight-year sentence on the condition that she not contact the student or his family or use the Internet. (link)
Now that's a decent looking woman (sigh). Of course there are going to be plenty of 'I wish I had a teacher like that' comments (the only comment on the site is one) and such from the people reading about this. However, as much as men and boys dream of things like this, it doesn't make it right. If the woman is a 'sex-addict' she should have simply had more sex with (gasp) her husband? or any of the millions of adults NOT in her class.
For any teacher to have sex with their students is simply wrong, no matter the gender or how appealing the person is. __________ Reason for outrage Filed: sex, underage, McMinnville, TN, Pamela Rogers, LordNazhLabels: crime, sex |

| What's wrong with (illegal) immigration? |
Taking the jobs that Americans won't:
INVASION USA Deported illegal who shot officers killed California patrolmen fired on as they sat in their cruiser Posted: December 29, 2006 1:30 p.m. Eastern
© 2006 WorldNetDaily.com An illegal immigrant who had been deported from the United States several times but returned each time and now was being sought for wounding two police officers in Long Beach, Calif., has died in a shooting with officers who tracked him to a taco stand in Santa Ana, authorities have confirmed. Oscar Gallegos | Santa Ana Police Chief Paul Walters said Oscar Gabriel Gallegos, wanted for the shooting of Long Beach officers Abram Yap and Roy Wade Jr. as they sat in their squad car Dec. 22, died while trying to shoot three of his officers with a .40-caliber Glock equipped with a laser sight. Walters told the Orange County Register that Gallegos carried two fully loaded magazines in his pocket during the confrontation. "He was either going to kill the officers or be killed," Walters said. "Fortunately, the right person got killed." The Long Beach officers, who had stopped Gallegos for running a red light, are recovering from their injuries in the hospital, officials said. (link) This guy should be the poster-boy for illegal immigration. At least he won't be shooting at American citizens anymore. Of course, the fact the he was here illegally doesn't mean he wouldn't have done this type of thing if he was a legal immigrant, but it does show the danger of having illegals here. It's bad enough when people who have the RIGHT to live here do this kind of thing, but for us not to work on our borders in light of situations such as this is reprehensible.
Capitalism at it's finest:
Haitian refugees come ashore at Jupiter Island By Kevin Deutsch Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Thursday, December 28, 2006 UPDATED: 11:44 p.m. December 28, 2006 Two Haitians were found dead after a group of about 17 boaters came ashore near Jupiter Island Thursday night, likely as part of a drug and human trafficking operation, authorities said. The group reached land about 9:45 p.m. near 691 South Beach Road, near the Martin-Palm Beach County line, and scattered into a wooded area. They left drugs and guns at the scene, then led authorities on a massive manhunt that spanned both sides of the county line. Officials found two dead people in the area, at least one in the water. Believing the rest of the group might be armed, about 80 law enforcment officials from at least five agencies fanned out using K-9s and helicopters, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office. Deputies considered the group armed and possibly dangerous. They urged Jupiter Island residents to call 911 if they saw anything suspicious. Based on the number of footprints in the area and other information, deputies believed there were about 17 boaters, including the two found dead. By 11 p.m., authorities captured 11 boaters and about three or four others were still on the loose, said Martin County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Bruce Pinkman. Helicopters roamed the skies above the county line, spotting fleeing boaters and radioing their location down to authorities on the ground, who captured them. The boaters were detained at a nearby park, authorities said. (link) Seriously, these guys were just looking to get into business, what's wrong with that? Hopefully they will catch the rest of the scum and deal harshly with them. Deportation should be the final order after some serious jail-time.
